Mike Posner hat seine Verwandlung vom Campus-Soulboy zum angesagten Top-Performer in nur wenigen Schritten geschafft. Seine Debütsingle „Cooler Than Me“, die er mehr oder weniger noch auf dem Campus geschrieben und aufgenommen hatte, startete in den US-Billboard-Charts bis auf den sechsten Platz durch. Auch in Deutschland wurde man nun langsam auf Posner aufmerksam. Hier sammelte der 22-jährige bei seinen Interview-Reisen und zahlreichen TV-Auftritten (u.a. The Dome, VIVA live) große Sympathien und schrammte mit dem fast schon unbarmherzig eingängigen Synth-R&B-Pop-Song „Cooler Than Me“ nur ganz knapp an seiner ersten Top-20-Platzierung hierzulande vorbei. Mit „Please Don’t Go“ erscheint am 07.01.2011 nun die zweite, nicht minder catchy Single aus seinem Debütalbum „31 Minutes To Takeoff“, das in den USA auf Anhieb die Top Ten erreichte.
Für den streetfunky Electro-Pop-Track „Please Don’t Go“ tat sich der aus Detroit stammende Sänger, Musiker und Produzent mit einem der erfolgreichsten Hitmacher der vergangenen Monate zusammen: Benny Blanco. Dieser hatte u.a. in entscheidender Funktion an den Welthits „Dynamite“ (Taio Cruz), „Teenage Dream“ (Katy Perry), „Circus“ (Britney Spears) und „TiK ToK“ (Ke$ha) mitgewirkt. Darüber hinaus ist Blanco als Background-Sänger auf „Please Don’t Go“ zu hören. Erscheinen wird neue Single in Deutschland ab dem 7. Januar.
