Hockey – das Debütalbum „Mind Chaos“ und die Single „Too Fake“ erobern Deutschland

Diese Band braucht weder Puck noch Schläger – die amerikanisch-kanadische Band ist in Amerika schon längst ein Geheimtipp. Jetzt starten „Hockey“ auch in Europa durch. Am 18. September veröffentlichten die fünf ihr Debütalbum „Mind Chaos“, die Singleauskopplung „Too Fake“ ist schon seit Juli auf dem Markt.

In „Mind Chaos“ überzeugen Sänger Benjamin Grubin, Gitarrist Brian White, Bassist Jeremy Reynolds, Drummer Anthony Stassi und Keyborder Ryan Dolliver mit ihrer Kombination aus Indie und New Wave, gepaart mit überzeugenden Texten, die nicht vor Gesellschaftskritik zurückschrecken. Vorbilder für die Lyrics sind zum Beispiel Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger und Brian Eno. Dies alles wird untermalt von Benjamin Grubins fesselnder Stimme.

Dass das Album voller Hits ist, ist auch den Verantwortlichen für die MTV Europe Music Awards nicht entgangen: Hockey wurde in der Kategorie „Best Push Artist“ nominiert. Die Verleihung wird am 5. November 2009 statt finden.
