Zuerst Tänzerin, dann Schauspielerin, Sängerin und schließlich Modedesignerin – Jennifer Lopez, die gebürtige New Yorkerin mit puertoricanischen Wurzeln, hat in den vergangenen Jahren erreicht, was noch nie zuvor einer Latina gelungen war: So war sie die erste Schauspielerin mit Latin-Wurzeln, die in Hollywood für einen Kinofilm eine Millionen-Dollar Gage bekam und später die sexy Anführerin der Latin-Welle in der Popwelt, die ab 1999 rund um den Globus die Charts dominierte.
Danach wurde es schwierig für die erfolgsverwöhnte Schönheit. In den Medien war sie meist nur noch mit Flops, ihrer Ehe zu Ben Affleck und wegen ihres durchaus einladenden Hinterteils zu sehen. Musikalisch wurde es nahezu komplett still um J. Lo, die mit "Jenny From The Block" einst einen Welthit landete.
Nun soll 2011 ihr großes Jahr werden, Jennifer Lopez startet das Comeback des Jahres und holt sich dafür sogar einen Latino-Kollegen an den Start: Rapper Pitbull, der im letzten Jahr mit "I Know You Want Me" in Deutschland bekannt wurde.
Man darf zu Recht von dem Comeback des Jahres sprechen. Nach dem Wechsel zu Island Def Jam meldet sich J.Lo mit ihrer ersten Single „On The Floor“ höchst erfolgreich in den Charts zurück! Bei uns eroberte der Song Platz 2 der iTunes-Charts, und auch der Rest der Welt ist wieder im J.Lo-Fieber: Platz 1 in den Download-Charts in Spanien, Griechenland, Frankreich, Schweden, Australien, Finnland, Österreich und Belgien!
Jennifer Lopez hat sich aber nicht allein auf Pitbull verlassen, zusätzlich holte sie sich für ihr Comeback noch den Erfolgsproduzenten RedOne an ihre Seite, der vor allem für seine Arbeiten mit Lady Gaga bekannt ist. Zusammen mit Pitbull und RedOne bringt J.Lo einen perfekten Mix aus Latin Sound und European Club Beats auf die Tanzflächen. Ein Song der nicht nur aufgrund des „Lambada“-Samples (Ende der 80er Jahre ein weltweiter Hit von Kaoma) im Ohr bleibt.
Erscheinen soll die neue Single ab dem 11. März, dann kann man "On The Floor" feat. Pitbull auch in den Läden kaufen. Ein komplettes neues Album soll ebenfalls noch in diesem Frühjahr folgen.
