Timbaland heißt eigentlich Timothy Zachary Mosley und ist einer der einflußreichsten Hip-Hop- und R&B- Produzenten der Welt.Nun ist sein neues Album zu haben!
In seiner Jugend trat Timbaland in Virginia als „DJ Tiny Tim“ auf. Dann produzierte er die Band seiner Jugendfreundin Missy Elliott – Sista. Dadurch knüpfte er Kontakte zu DeVante Swing und erhielt seinen Künstlernamen „Timbaland“, der übrigens an die Hip-Hop-Schuhmarke angelehnt ist.Elliott und Timbaland arbeiteten daraufhin als Songwriter-/Produzententeam weiter. Den ersten großen Erfolg erzielten sie mit dem Album „One In A Million“ von Aaliyah.
Der Amerikaner ist einer der erfolgreichsten Produzenten im Musikbusiness. Er arbeitete u.a. mit Destiny’s Child, Jay-Z, Brandy, Nelly Furtado und Justin Timberlake, produzierte Alben von Missy Elliott und veröffentlichte 1998 sein erstes Solo-Album „Tim’s Bio: Life from da Bassment“, das eine Sammlung verschiedener von ihm produzierter Songs war.
2006 kam dann sowohl „Loose“ (Nelly Furtado) und „Future Sex/Love Sounds“ (Justin Timberlake) und war neuer Riesenerfolg für Timbaland. 2007 veröffentlichte er dann sein zweites Album „Timbaland Presents Shock Value“. Wie bereits im ersten Album war auch dieses eine Sammlung seiner erfolgreichsten Songs, zum Beispiel mit Nelly Furtado, Elton John, Missy Elliott und The Hives. Es folgten weitere Projekte (Madonna, OneRepublic).
Am 4. Dezember 2009 ist Timbalands drittes Album „Shock Value 2“ erschienen. Diesmal mit erfolgreichen Kollaborationen mit Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Keri Hilson und Brandy (Bran’Nu).
Die erste Singleauskopplung „Morning After Dark“ mit Nelly Furtado und SoShy wurde am 27. November 2009 veröffentlicht und erreichte Platz 6 der deutschen Singlecharts.
