Man sollte eigentlich meinen die Zeit der Boybands wäre irgendwann einmal vorbei, aber weit gefehlt. Es gibt anscheinend immer Mädels im richtigen Alter, denen die Jungs die Köpfe verdrehen. Und geplant hatten es Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson und Niall Horaneigentlich nicht, denn das Quintett lernte sich mehr oder weniger durch Zufall kennen…
….sie mussten nämlich in der britischen TV-Show "The X Factor" als Solosänger gegeneinander antreten. Das war vor ein paar Monaten und es war erst der Anfang. Jetzt gelten die fünf Jungs mit dem Bandnamen "One Direction" als heißeste Boyband Großbritanniens, doch das ist jetzt schon klar: Auch das ist erst der Anfang. Schon beim Blick auf die Produzentenliste ihres ersten Albums wird sofort klar: diese Jungs haben nur ein Ziel – Weltkarriere.
Für ihr Debütalbum hat man nur die besten Produzenten verpflichtet und somit wurde auch ihre erste Single "What Makes You Beautiful" ein echter Paukenschlag. Geschrieben und produziert wurde der Hit „What Makes You Beautiful” vom Pop-Kompetenzteam Carl Falk (Taio Cruz, Nicole Scherzinger, Boyzone u.a.), Savan Kotecha (Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, Enrique Iglesias u.a.) und Rami Yacoub (P!NK, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion u.a.) und One Direction gelang damit der Sprung an die Spitze der britischen Charts.
