Heute hat Rihanna erstmals öffentlich darüber gesprochen, was vor neun Monaten vor sich ging. Kurz vor der Grammy-Verleihung am 8. Februar 2009 hatte Rihannas Ex-Freund Chris Brown so schwer auf die Sängerin eingeprügelt, dass sie ihren Auftritt bei den Grammys absagen musste. Kurz darauf tauchten Fotos im Internet auf, auf denen eine grün und blau geprügelte Rihanna zu sehen war.
In einem TV-Interview in Amerika sagte sie: „Jeder Frau kann das passieren, was mir passiert ist!“ Weiter verriet sie, dass Chris Brown ihre erste große Liebe gewesen sei. Der 20-jährige hat sich seit dem Vorfall mehrmals öffentlich entschuldigt und wurde zudem zu 5 Jahren auf Bewährung und 180 Tage gemeinnützige Arbeit verurteilt.
Am 23. November 2009 kommt Rihannas viertes Album „Rated R“ in die Läden. Die dazugehörige Single „Russian Roulette“ kommt am 13. November 2009.
