Es läuft momentan alles rund bei Jared Leto und seiner Band 30 Seconds To Mars: Bei den diesjährigen MTV European Music Awards konnten sie einen Preis mit nach Hause nehmen. Sie konnten sich in der Kategorie „Bester Rock Act“ gegen Bands wie Kings Of Leon, Linkin Park, Muse und auch Ozzy Osbourne durchsetzen. Zudem hat die Band eine neue Deluxe-Version ihres Erfolgsalbums „This Is War“ in den Startlöchern, das ihr Jahr 2010 wohl sehr schön abrunden wird.
Darauf zu finden ist auch eine neue Version ihres Liedes „Hurricane“, das 30 Seconds To Mars hier zusammen mit Kanye West aufgenommen haben. Kanye West? Ja, richtig gelesen, diese Zusammenarbeit hat sich aus einem Zufall heraus ergeben und sorgt für mächtig frischen Wind. Dies ist vor allem auf die Neufassung der Single „Hurricane“ bezogen, aber auch auf die Deluxe-Fassung des Albums, denn die kann sich nun wahrlich hören lassen. Die Fans erhalten nicht einfach eine verbesserte Version, sondern somit mehr oder weniger neue Songs. Mit dabei sind auch zwei Coverversionen eines Lady Gaga Songs und…auch einen Song von Kanye West haben sie sich vorgeknöpft.
Ach ja, Kanye West, da war doch was…kennengelernt hat man sich im Studio von Kanye West. Immerhin einer der weltweit erfolgreichsten Producer und so stattete Leto ihm einen Besuch ab. Aus dem Besuch wurde eine Session, aus der Session dann eine neue Version der Single „Hurricane“.
Bisweilen erinnert diese Kollaboration ein wenig an die Zusammenarbeit von Jay-Z und Linkin Park vor einigen Jahren. Die Rapeinlage von Kanye West macht die Single „Hurricane“ von 30 Seconds To Mars nun noch lebendiger und noch eindringlicher.
Erscheinen soll der Song als Download in Kürze. Zu finden ist der Track dann natürlich auch auf der neuen Deluxe-Version des Albums „This Is War“.
